Configuration Tool

The Configuration tool allows you to configure global setting for your website.

Configuration

License Key:
Gold Support members will get a license key to request help and access features on TandemServer.com

Remove Powered By Link:
This feature will only work with a valid license key obtained by purchasing a Gold Support Package from TandemServer.com.
Please show your support for Tandem Server and leave this box unchecked.

Website Name:
Name of your website (used in the meta title element).

File Not Found Page:
Selecting a page here will display that page as your File Not Found page instead of a generic error page. Tandem Server users commonly use a sitemap page as their file not found page to direct visitors to a related page.

Enable Friendly URLs:
Before enabling Friendly URLs you must configure your server to redirect 404 (file not found) website errors to the "FileNotFound.aspx" page in the root of your website. If you do not set this up properly, the links on your website will not work. Contact your hosting company on how to configure your 404 error handling to point to the "FileNotFound.aspx" page.

Use Live Search Control:
This feature will enable a Microsoft Live Search control on your web site below your top navigation bar (on the right) so visitors can search your site for specific content.

Note: Search results depend on the Live Search for content so if your site has not been crawled by Live Search there will be no results, it is best to leave this option off until your site has been indexed by Live Search.

Use SSL for Secure Pages:
When using secure pages you have the option to make them more secure by using a Secure Socets Layer (SSL) to access them.

Before enabling Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) i.e. "https" for Secure Content Pages you must have SSL setup for your website or you will not be able to access your pages. Contact your hosting company on how to setup SSL for your website.

SSL is a security protocol that provides communication privacy which enables client and server applications to communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, and message forgery.

Date Format:
This date format will be used when displaying dates on your website. i.e. Newsletters and Articles

Vertical Navigation

Position:
Here you can position your vertical navigation on the right or left side of your website. Note: Positioning the navigation on the right side is slightly better for search engine rankings as it will position your content higher on your page.

Website Dimensions

Width:
Here you can choose how wide you want your website to display 800 pixels, 1024 pixels or 100%.

Favorites Icon

Icon URL (.ico):
This is a nice feature for a website to have, a favorites icon is used for when visitors bookmark your site (add your site to their favorites menu). Having a custom icon is nice to allow visitors to quickly identify your site in their favorites menu. This icon also displays in the address bar of your browser. Note: This image must be an .ico file type to function properly.
